  • Results of Boys and Girls State Track Championship
    Our track season has came to an end, and overall I am please about our end results.

    Terrell County Boys and Girls track and field teams competed in the 

    2019 State Track and Field Championships on 

    May 9th, 10th and 11th at Hugh Mills Stadium in Albany. Georgia. 

    There were 40 Female teams and 38 Male teams from Class A in competition. 

    Terrell County Girls finished in 12th place and the Boys took an 8th place finished.
      Allycia Hill - 3rd in the State in the discus. She also threw her(PB) personal best, 

    with a throw of 115-09.50ft. This is also a new school record, breaking the old record of 106 ft.
    DeMarion Latimore - 5th on the High Jump and 5th in the 300 meter hurdles.
    Eshaun Harvey - 4th in the 110 hurdles and 6th in the 300 meter hurdles. 

    This is his (PB) personal best with a time of 41.09.
    Trimyrn Williams - 14th in the 3200(2 mile) run and 9th in the 800 meter run.
    Malcolm Hand - completed in the Long Jump, but could not find his mark.
    Keiondre Malik Davis - 2nd in the 400 meter dash and 15th in the Triple Jump
    Kniyah Watson - 6th in the 300 meter hurdles
    Adrianne Huckaby - 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles. This is also her (PB) personal best with a time of 48.88
    Boys 4x400 meter relay team took 3rd place.

    These young me also ran their (PB) personal best. The knocked off 5 seconds from their Prelims time with a new time of 3:30.28.

  • TERRELL COUNTY GREENWAVE SWEEPS REGION TRACK TITLES

    ALBANY — The Terrell County Greenwave track teams swept the Region 1-A championships 

    Monday at Hugh Mills Stadium in Albany with the girls taking a huge win over second place 
    Baconton and the boys edging out second place Pelham. The Greenwave girls racked up 132 points 
    over the second place Blazers with 84 and the boys picked up 152 points over Pelham’s 144.
    Adriana Huckaby led the Greenwave girls by winning the region championship in the 400 meter run, 
    the triple jump and as part of the 4x400 relay team that took first place. She finished second in the region 
    in the 100 meter and 300 meter hurdles behind Terrell County teammate Kniyah Watson, giving the Greenwave  
    a 1-2 finish in both events.Terrell County’s Allycia Hill also won the region championship in the discus throw, 
    winning with a throw of 110 feet, 4 inches — more than 11 feet longer than second place finisher Aleens Fuller 
    of Pelham. While Mitchell County’s Kanijah Gardner won the girl’s high jump, Terrell County earned the most points
    in the high jump when Queen Khairiya Watson took second place and teammate Ny’Asya Wiggins finished
     third.Baconton Charter’s Tabitha Boyer won the region title in the 1,600 meter run and finished second in the 
    3,200 meter run. Pelham’s Cynthia Stokes finished second in the 1600 meter run behind Boyer,then edged 
    Boyer for the win in the 3200 meter run.The Blazers also claimed region championships in the girl’s pole vault 
    and the long jump. Gracie Coker won the pole vault — beating Cynthia Stokes of Pelham who finished second. 
    Lenzie Vickers claimed the top spot in the long jump for Baconton Charter, jumping one inch further than Gabby White 
    of Mitchell County. Terrell’s Kniyah Watson finished third.Miller County’s Jazlin Bush took the title as the fastest woman 
    on the track, sweeping the 100 and 200 dashes. Curnesha Davis of Mitchell County took second place in the 100 and 
    Bush’s teammate Jale George of Miller County took second in the 200.Miller County also claimed the region title in the 
    800 meter run as LaCorsica Johnson edged out Pelham’s Diana Carter. The Pirates also took first in the 4x100 relay.
    Pelham took region titles by Stokes in the 3,200 and then Pelham got a 1-2 finish in the shot put. Krystian Jones won the 
    title over teammate Kenjanai Brown.The Terrell County boys won the region by taking first place in eight different events 
    and having four of those events with the top two finishers. In the 400 meter race, Demarion Latimore took first place, 
    a half second faster than teammate Keiondre Davis. In the 300 meter hurdles, Latimore crossed the finish line one second 
    ahead of teammate Eshaun Harvey. In the 110 meter hurdles, Harvey beat teammate Nehemiah Shanks by a half second. 
    The triple jump was the other event where Greenwave teammates finished first and second. Daron Davis jumped to first place, 
    6 inches farther than Keiondre.The other region winners for the Greenwave were Trimyrn Williams in the 3,200, the 4x400 relay team, 
    Demarion Latimore again in the high jump and Malcolm Hand in the long jump.Jamie Lewis of Mitchell County took top honors in the 
    100 meter dash, seven hundreths of a second faster than Baconton Charter’s Marquez Freeman. Mitchell County’s Jadakiss Harvey 
    won the 200 meter dash, edging Pelham’s Kentravious Mixon by five hundreths of a second. Mitchell County’s speedsters, 
    Lewis, Harvey, Marcus Collier and Earl Waters also took the top spot in the 4x100 relay running the race one second faster than 
    Pelham’s quartet of Mixon, Cameron Bailey, Kendrick Patterson and Jeremiah Stewart.In the 1600 meter run, Chattahoochee County’s 
    Larry Scott crossed the line first, beating Pelham’s Ladis Ross and Pataula Charter’s Byron Thornton.Baconton Charter pole vaulter 
    Darien Williams won the region title ahead of Chattahoochee County’s Trevor Erickson. Baconton’s AJ Finney finished third.Pelham
     earned region championships in the shot put and discus with senior Malik Mango in first. Calhoun County’s Edwin Wims finished second 
    in the discus with Pelham’s Gary Ervin earning points in third place. David Williams of Baconton took second in the shot put and 
    Dequarius Gilbert of Mitchell County took third place.
